For the world, specially-abled kids are differently gifted. For Essar Power MP’s ‘UMANG Ladies Club’, they are definitely gifted.
A sports day was organised by the ladies of the Club at Essar Township for children with special needs of Navprabha Samiti. Over 40 specially-abled children indulged actively in sporting events such as flat races keeping in mind their physical, visual, auditory and cognitive capabilities. The day concluded with a prize distribution ceremony followed by mass tree plantation where each plant was named after each specially-abled child present at the event.
Essar Power MP recognises the need to do more for specially-abled kids who are all too often marginalised and discriminated against, missing out on opportunities that they deserve. Representatives of Navprabha Samiti reiterated the need to organise more of such sporting events as these events pump enthusiasm and give the kids a sense of pride.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Ajay Sinha, COO – Essar Power MP Limited.
