Access to affordable healthcare in remote areas of rural India is a challenge. As part of its community initiatives near Essar’s CBM project at Raniganj (Durgapur, West Bengal), mobile medical units (MMUs) are deployed across several villages. The MMUs ensure that the neighbouring rural communities have access to quality and timely primary healthcare.
Since 2010, the MMU’s have reached out and impacted over 100,000 people across all age groups in the region.
