Essar Shipping recognised by US Coast Guard’s prestigious AMVER Award Programme

Seven vessels of Essar Shipping’s 12-vessel fleet—namely MV Arun, MV Ashok, MV Shravan, MV Kamlesh, MV Malathi, MV Mahavir and MV Kishore—have been recognised by the United States Coast Guard for their outstanding commitment to safety at sea. The recognition came as part of the Automated Mutual Assistance Vessel Rescue (AMVER) System Programme.

Of the seven, MV Kamlesh, MV Mahavir and MV Kishore received the AMVER Blue Pennant as a mark of the vessels’ first year of participation with AMVER.

Mr Ranjit Singh, Executive Director & CEO, Essar Shipping, was the Chief Guest at the award ceremony.

The AMVER System, sponsored by the US Coast Guard, is a computer-based voluntary global ship reporting system used worldwide by search and rescue authorities to arrange for assistance to persons in distress at sea.
