Essar Foundation provides ration to Adivasi children at the Shri Gadge Maharaj Prathamik and Madhyamik Ashram

Plans to open a Sports Academy for the Ashram children

In our endeavor to help the marginally weaker section of society, Essar Foundation reached out to Shri Gadge Maharaj Prathamik and Madhyamik Ashram located in the remote interiors of Vajreshwari on the Wada-Nashik tribal belt, Maharashtra and provided food items and groceries to the economically backward communities.

The ashram was started in 1954 and runs on the teachings and values laid down by late saint Shri Gadge Maharaj, who always preached and practiced hard work, simple living, and selfless service to the poor and aimed to uplift the poor and downtrodden.

The Ashram houses 458 Adivasi children including boys and girls. The tribal children residing at the Ashram are from 1st Std to 10th Std. These children have a spark in them irrespective of their current situation and aspire to do well in life.

The legendary cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar is a patron of the ashram and has supported it as he appreciates the work the ashram has been doing for the welfare of the underprivileged and orphans.

The Foundation team visited the ashram and looked at ways where they could help. Their main source of concern was food and groceries. The Foundation then decided to provide them with ration and is considering starting a Sports Academy on the premises of the Ashram for the children. The management of the Ashram expressed their gratitude towards the Foundation.

Mr. Dominic Dsouza and Mr. Tej Singh Barwa visited the ashram and handed over the essentials to the ashram authorities and spent time with children.
