Avid Learning is proud to be part of and support Ministry of Culture’s International Museum Expo 2023 held in New Delhi

Avid Learning is proud to have partnered with the Ministry of Culture to discuss the future of Museums at the International Museum Expo 2023 that was hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India on May 18th to 20th at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. This initiative undertaken to commemorate the 47th International Museum Day, as part of the second phase of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The International Museum Expo 2023 was inaugurated by The Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi and was well attended by Government functionaries like The Union Minister For Culture, Tourism And Development Of North Eastern Region, Government of India, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, joint secretary in the Ministry of Culture, director general of the National Archives of India, Mughda Sinha, Director of NGMA Mumbai & Bangalore, Nazneen Banu and other Museum professionals, aligned service-technology providers, Academicians, and School & College students from the National to the Community level graced the occasion with their presence. The expo also brought together thought leaders, cultural enthusiasts, and museum professionals to shape the future of the Indian museum landscape.

As part of the Expo’s engaging lineup, Avid Learning curated and presented a panel discussion Transcending Boundaries‘. CEO, Avid Learning Asad Lalljee moderated this discussion with a diverse group of museum founders and directors including Director, Indian Music Experience Museum, Bangalore Preema John, Founder, The 1947 Partition Archive Dr. Guneeta Singh Bhalla, Co-Founder, Tram Arts Trust & Museum of Ordinary Objects Choiti Ghosh, Founder, The Human Library Mumbai Aandaleeb Qureshi, Ideator, The Museum of Possibilities and Member, Disability Rights Alliance Vaishnavi Jayakumar, Founder and Editor, Indian Memory Project Anusha Yadav, and Founder, Museum Memories Project Poulomi Das. On the third day of the expo, Asad Lalljee also shared his thoughts on the panel Keeping Afloat: Financial Sustainability of Museums and Cultural Spaces with other speakers including Director General & Secretary, Board of Trustees(CSMVS), Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Director, Museo Camera Museum Aditya Arya, Branch Head, Cultural Heritage and Science Initiatives, Australian Museum Vinod Daniel, Consultant, UNESCO and Co-Founder, Cultre Anjchita Nair, Director, Science City Kolkata Anurag Kumar, and Marketing Lead, National Museum of Indian Cinema Priyanka Sharma. This discussion was moderated by Founder, Zen-Brain.com Shruti Singh Verma.

Apart from key panels, Asad Lalljee also introduced three seminal and accomplished keynote speakers on stage at the International Museum Expo 2023 in New Delhi including Dr. Sachchidanand Joshi Member Secretary, the Executive and Academic Head of Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA),New Delhi, Manuel Rabaté, the director of Louvre Abu Dhabi and Rajeev Sethi, art curator, designer, chairman & founder of Asian Heritage Foundation who gave very enriching insights and illustrated case studies and best practices on curating and museology. 

It was an enriching experience to be part of the International Museum Expo 2023 and support its mission to celebrate the vibrancy and diversity of India’s museums. Avid Learning continues to collaborate with Ministry of   Culture and its various initiatives in support the Arts, Heritage, culture of India and we look forward be associated with many such initiatives by the Government of India.
