Avid Learning Celebrates its Ten-Year Anniversary with #10YearsofAVID, an exciting Digital Celebratory Campaign

This October we turn ten! It has been an exciting and fruitful decade of learning and growing.

Avid Learning journey:

As you know, Avid Learning is the public programming platform and cultural philanthropy arm of the Essar Group founded in 2009, with the vision of featuring the best of Indian and International Writers, Artists, Thinkers and Cultural Experts, in the fields of Arts, Literature, Culture and Heritage, Design and Innovation through engaging formats like Workshops, Panel Discussions, Gallery Walkthroughs, Master Classes and Festival Platforms. Since our inception, AVID has thus far conducted over 1150+ programs and connected with more than 140,000 individuals, a mix of students, homemakers, corporates and creative enthusiasts in different Indian cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, Hazira and Vadinar.

Founder and Chairperson, Avid Learning Mrs. Madhu Ruia says, “Back in 2009 when we first began we had but a handful of workshops and an ambitious vision; I’m so proud to say that we have grown through dedication and hard work into becoming a unique and leading platform for Arts and Culture in the city today.”

Over the years, AVID is proud to have gained a reputation for curating thought provoking, trending and forward looking content that art and culture industry practitioners, patrons and enthusiasts find stimulating both intellectually and creatively. We seek to invite more people into the conversation by deepening learning experiences through sustained partnerships and series and by diversifying our programming through new spaces, formats and approaches.

In keeping with our motto, #LearningNeverStops, our journey has led us into exploring exciting territories, discovering rarer perspectives, finding unique voices, uncovering innovative practices and forging new partnerships.

We are proud to consider ourselves a part of this Maximum City’s cultural ecosystem and are humbled to have affirmation from our audiences, partners and collaborators that our programming indeed has the pulse of Mumbai and resonates with a variety of people.

It is our privilege to engage with Mumbai’s cultural heritage, and provide opportunities to spark or continue the conversation on a variety of topical subjects related to the city, the nation and beyond.

We consider ourselves fortunate to have worked with some of the most prestigious Indian and International institutions, individuals, practitioners, innovators and governmental and diplomatic bodies to increase our scope, enrich our own trajectory and expand learning opportunities for all our stakeholders.

We have been at the helm of programming at the Royal Opera House, Mumbai since its reopening in 2016 and in the past three years with AVID’s support, we’re happy to have contributed to the Opera House having positioned itself as not just a spectacular location and heritage landmark, but more so as a proactive partner and catalyst in the propagation and revival of arts and culture in the city.

To celebrate this important milestone we decided, instead of having a localized celebration, to continue to spread our message and motto on social media, the most dynamic and exciting learning platform available and have all our disparate audiences and collaborators around the world join in!

Our celebratory digital campaign #10YearsofAVID will showcase our work and evolution across ten verticals such as fine art, music, dance, theatre, architecture, culture and heritage, design, literature, film and photography. The campaign will highlight and commemorate a decade of learning with AVID. We invite you to engage, participate and tag us, especially if you have a special AVID memory of your own to share!

As we look forward to the next ten years and beyond, our quest continues for the emerging opportunities and changing practices in this field, we continue to scan the arts and culture horizons globally in search of path-breaking programs that we can bring to our discerning audiences in Mumbai and beyond.

SVP, Essar Group, CEO of Avid Learning and Curator, Royal Opera House MumbaiAsad Lalljee says, “Ten years on- I am very proud of all we have achieved, yet our vision continues to project further forward as we look to leverage our relationships built, the goodwill we have garnered, and the esteem we have earned in order to continue our work with the arts and culture, social advocacy and diplomacy and expand our purview into furthering educational innovation, cultural policy, sustainability and much much more!”

We are grateful to have you be part of our journey thus far! Your continued support and patronage will assuredly help us scale new heights in the next decade and beyond!
